‘You Have No Idea What’s Coming’: Sylvester Stallone Shares Exciting Update On Tulsa King Season 2

Sylvester Stallone teases the second season of Tulsa King with a big update on the Paramount+ series

In a video shared on social media by Paramount+, Tulsa King star Sylvester Stallone tells fans, “You have no idea what’s coming. Trust me.” A poster image is then shown teasing how the second season will be released in Fall 2024. The caption of the video further added, “Production for [Tulsa King] Season 2 starts today – you have no idea what’s coming.” The post can be seen below.

The first season of Tulsa King debuted on Paramount+ in November 2022. The series wound up setting a record for the streamer for leading to the biggest day for new sign-ups for subscribers, and it pulled in very high viewership during its run. Paramount would also air the show on Paramount Network, where it similarly garnered high ratings. It drew 3.7 million viewers with its first broadcast, which was enough to overcome House of the Dragon as the highest-rated TV series debut of the year.

Tulsa King was created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone). Along with Sly Stallone, the series stars Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany. Stallone and Sheridan executive produce the series alongside Terence Winter, David C. Glasser, Ronald Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, And Braden Aftergood.

Tulsa King stars Stallone as Dwight “The General” Mayfield, a Mafia capo from New York City who is sent by his boss to set up new operations in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after serving a 25-year prison sentence. Against the odds, he puts together a crew of misfits far unlike the group he’d been working with in NYC.

Season 1’s Showrunner Stepped Down

The first season featured Terence Winter as showrunner. It was later announced that Winter had exited the series over “creative differences” with creator Taylor Sheridan. However, Winter remains on board as an executive producer and will continue to work on Tulsa King as a writer.

“In his version our character Dwight was a 75-year-old kind of low-level bag man in the mob,” Winter told Deadline about adding some changes to Sheridan’s original concept. “He had never been to prison, he didn’t have a family and he got sent out to Kansas City as a reward for a lifetime of service. When I took it over, I really felt like I wanted to explore the idea of a 75-year-old man in the twilight of his years who’s only got a limited amount of time left, who wants to make something of his life.”
