BREAKING: Yellowstone Returns to CBS and NETFLIX for ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5, Part 2 Tonight — What Fans Need to Know
What are we streaming this weekend, Yellowstone gang? I’m using this weekend to catch up on a few new movies and TV shows that premiered on various streaming services last weekend. You want specifics? Sure! I’m pressing play on Nicolas Cage’s Certified Fresh 2023 film Dream Scenario (now on Max), the third season of the Sara Bareilles-led musical comedy Girls5eva (Netflix), and the new season of Resident Alien on Peacock.
I may not know what all of you are watching, but I do know what you’re not streaming: A new episode of Yellowstone. When exactly does Taylor Sheridan’s fervently adored drama return to a television screen near you? Here’s everything we know.
Is Yellowstone on Paramount Network Tonight (April 1)?
Nope. Sadly, there’s no new episode of Yellowstone on Paramount Network tonight, which begs the question…
When Does Yellowstone Return With New Episodes?
As of now — and things can always change, especially with Yellowstone — the plan is for the second half of Season 5 to premiere in November 2024 on Paramount Network. Two new spinoffs — currently titled 1944 and 2024 — are also in the works.
No plot details for 1944 or 2024 are available, but Variety reports that 2024 is expected to begin airing following the conclusion of Yellowstone, with the show featuring “new cast members and locations with some crossover characters as well.” This is the series that could potentially include Matthew McConaughey, who’s been rumored to star in a Yellowstone spinoff since April 2023.
Is Yellowstone On Peacock?
Yes! All five seasons of your favorite modern Western are on Peacock Premium. Individual episodes and complete seasons of Yellowstone are also available to purchase on Amazon.
When Does Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga Premiere In Theaters?
Part 1 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 28, with Part 2 debuting on August 16.
Is Kevin Costner Leaving Yellowstone?
Production on the final episodes of the fifth and final season will reportedly begin in late spring 2024, but Costner’s level of involvement in the remaining installments is still unclear. The actor revealed in a September court trial that he was initially offered $24 million to do Seasons 5, 6, and 7 of Yellowstone but there were “issues with creative.”
Per Deadline, another source of contention centered around the star’s shooting schedule. Costner reportedly wanted more time to spend on his upcoming multi-part Western movie Horizon: An American Saga, a film in which he starred, directed, co-wrote, and produced.
The situation remains in flux — Costner said in September that he’ll “probably go to court” over his Yellowstone exit — so it’s safe to say that he almost certainly won’t be involved in future spinoffs.
