EastEnders’ Lacey Turner on Stacey’s desperation and feud with Kat

In response to her EastEnders character Stacey Slater using desperate means in upcoming scenes, Lacey Turner offered her opinion.

The audience is aware of Stacey’s recent struggles, as she had to accept a night job to support her family while dealing with the unplanned pregnancy of her 12-year-old daughter Lily (Lillia Turner).

Stacey will steal money in a future show and tell Jean (Gillian Wright) a lie about it. Feeling guilty, she returns it the following day without telling her mother that she had actually taken it.

Stacey isn’t a thief and never has been, so it shows how desperate she is and how far she is prepared to go, Turner told the media, including RadioTimes.com.

The actor insisted that Stacey would never steal because she would always realize her error and return the money.

She continued, “Taking from other people isn’t something that she’s really ever done before.

Stacey lies to the police in an effort to conceal the fact that she received the money. Turner continued, “She decides she’s going to claim she didn’t take the money, so that’s what she’s sticking to.

Despite having a strong support system, the actress said that Stacey isn’t going to accept assistance this time around and hinted at a conflict with her relative Kat (Jessie Wallace).

She explained, “Kat’s helped her a lot of times, like when she helped her purchase the van, so she already owes Kat a lot of money. She feels a bit like a charity case because Martin and Alfie and Freddie are both giving money, according to me.

She went on: “It’s one too many handouts at this juncture, and it makes her feel inferior. While she is making every effort to support her family, Kat has access to a lot of money and is able to spend it as she pleases.”

It appears that “pride” will obstruct Stacey and Kat’s connection.

Turner said, “I believe there’s just a little bit of jealousy there, not bitterness, but it’s someone else bailing her out again.

Stacey will go to great measures to protect her family, according to EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw, who described this theft plot as the start of a “big year” for the Slaters.

Although Stacey is no stranger to stealing from others, it’s possible that the executive producer was referring to her role in the Christmas murder, which was previously hinted at in a flash-forward. At this point, viewers don’t know who murdered the mystery male victim, but a shocked Stacey with bloody hands sure looked suspicious.
